ABSTRACT The present invention provide a support and a high-performance liquid chromatographic column having an ability to separate optical isomers. Accordingly, the optical isomer separating agent is prepared by chemically bonding conalbumin to a support such as silica gel or synthetic polymer, and the high-performance liquid chromatographic column is prepared by packing the separating agent into a column. The conalbumin may be subjected to a chemical modification such as cross-linkage with glutaraldehyde or acylation. The present invention enables the separation of the optical isomers which could not be separated by the use of the separating agents for optical isomers according to the prior art. - 13 -
