This invention relates to an electronic message device for vehicles for communicating messages by light communication means to drivers in other vehicles comprising: a receiver means and a control means mountable within a vehicle, the receiver means being operatively connected to the control means; the control means being electronically configured and operatively connectable to a light communication means to control the operation of the light communication means; and a security-coded electonic activation means to interact with the receiver means and permit the control of the use of the light communication means by the user via the control means.
