The present invention provides a polynucleotide which identifies and encodes a novel human macrophage antigen (TMAH). The invention provides for genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequence encoding TMAH. The invention also provides for the use of substantially purified TMAH and its agonists, antibodies, antagonists or inhibitors in pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of diseases associated with expression of TMAH. The invention also describes diagnostic assays which utilize the polynucleotide to hybridize with the genomic sequence or transcripts encoding TMAH and anti-TMAH antibodies which specifically bind to TMAH.
L'invention concerne un polynucléotide qui identifie et code pour un nouvel antigène macrophage humain (TMAH). Elle porte aussi sur des vecteurs d'expression manipulés génétiquement et sur des cellules hôtes contenant la séquence nucléotidique codant pour TMAH. Elle se rapporte encore à l'utilisation de TMAH sensiblement purifié et ses agonistes, anticorps, antagonistes ou inhibiteurs dans des compositions pharmaceutiques destinées au traitement de maladies associées à l'expression de TMAH. Elle concerne, de plus, des méthodes diagnostiques dans lesquelles on utilise le polynucléotide pour l'hybrider à la séquence ou aux transcrits génomiques codant pour TMAH et des anticorps dirigés contre TMAH qui fixent spécifiquement TMAH.
