Process for producing tear-can tops, and tear-off can tops produced by this process The present invention relates to a process for producing tear-off can tops made of a metal sheet with a surface protection layer applied to one or both sides and a gripping bottle [sic], embossed lines for a multiplicity of can tops on a common metal sheet being produced first on a metal sheet panel or metal sheet strip, a surface protection layer then being applied to the pre-embossed metal sheet panel or pre-embossed metal sheet strip and the tear-off can tops subsequently being punched out. The process is characterized in that a thermoplastic film is laminated as surface protection layer to the metal sheet panel or metal sheet strip. The invention also relates to tear-off can tops produced by this process.
