A syringe (10) includes a barrel (12) having a cannula (14) at one end and a plunger (16) at its opposite end whereby fluid may be drawn into or expressed from the barrel by translatory movement of the plunger (16) relative to the barrel (12). A white ink receptor coating (30) is provided on the barrel (12) at manufacture and on which coating (30) writing may be applied by the medical practitioner using a common ordinary writing implement such as a ballpoint pen. By locating the ink receptor coating (30) diametrically opposite the index markings (26) on the syringe barrel (12) and providing the coating (30) in a white color, the index markings (26) may be readily read against the contrasting white background to ascertain the quantity of fluid within the syringe barrel (12).

Selon l'invention, une seringue comprend un cylindre doté d'une aiguille à une extrémité et d'un piston à l'extrémité opposée, permettant de soutirer ou d'éjecter un fluide du cylindre par un mouvement de translation du plongeur par rapport au cylindre. Un revêtement blanc récepteur d'encre, déposé sur le cylindre lors de la fabrication, peut recevoir l'écriture d'un praticien médical utilisant un moyen d'écriture commun tel qu'un stylo à bille. La disposition du revêtement récepteur d'encre à un endroit diamétralement opposé aux marques de repères du cylindre et sa réalisation en couleur blanche permettent de lire facilement les marques de repères qui contrastent avec l'arrière plan blanc et d'assurer la confirmation de la quantité de fluide présent dans le cylindre de la seringue.
