Page 3 of 9 ABSTRACT Conventional syringes share a common properly in that they are capable of re-loading and repeated discharges. Repeated use may result in microbial contamination of individuals and the spread of blood transmitted diseases such as Viral Hepatitis and Aquired Immuno-Defidence Syndrome (A.I.D.S), or in contaminating and falsing experimental results in the laboratory. The SINGLE-USE SYRINGE is designated to overcome the above deficiencies by insuring that each syringe is mechanicaly capable of a single discharge only, and, consequently, is rendered inoperable, non-functional and obselete on completion of a single discharge. Mechanical efforts to re-activate the SINGLE-USE SYRINGE will IPSO-FACTO destroy the physical mecanism of the syringe, rendering it completely end definitely unusable.
