A Christmas light assembly consisting of a lamp base, which holds the lamp, and a lamp holder, which holds the two metal contact terminals of the electric wire, wherein the lamp base has an oval-like top ring, two smoothly curved symmetrical walls and two downward hooks extended from the oval-like top ring and defining a jack for holding the lamp, the oval-like top ring defining a major axis bigger than the upper limit of the manufacturing tolerance of the outer diameter of the lamp and a minor axis slightly smaller than the lower limit of the manufacturing tolerance thereof for flexibly fitting the actual outer diameter of the lamp installed; the lamp holder has two longitudinal outside grooves terminating in a respective retaining portions for engagement with the downward hooks of the lamp base, and two terminal chambers to hold the metal contact terminals in such a position that the smoothly curved symmetrical walls are compressed inwards by the metal contact terminals to hold down the lamp upon the insertion of the smoothly curved symmetrical walls into the lamp holder. 14
