Levobupivacaine is particularly suitabile for use in anaesthetising a human patient prior to surgery that does not require hospitalisation for more than 12 hours after loss of motor block. Because of its beneficial motor block/sensory block characteristics, levobupivacaine can be used for "daycare" surgery.

L'invention concerne la lévobupivacaïne qui se prête particulièrement à être utilisée lors de l'anesthésie d'un patient humain avant une opération chirurgicale qui ne nécessite pas une hospitalisation de plus de 12 heures après la perte du blocage moteur. En raison de ses caractéristiques bénéfiques de blocage moteur/blocage sensoriel, la lévobupivacaïne peut être utilisée lors d'opérations chirurgicales "ambulatoires".
