A method and apparatus for separating grease from an effluent stream containing grease and water includes a separation tank (12) in which the grease and water in the effluent separate with the grease floating on top of the water. Grease is heated to a liquid state then pumped by pump (110) from the separation tank (12) when the depth of the grease has reached a predetermined depth level (150) below an upper surface of the effluent in the separation tank. The pumping of grease from the separaton tank (12) is interrupted after a predetermined period of time.
Cette invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de séparer la graisse d'un courant effluent contenant de la graisse et de l'eau. Ledit appareil comporte un réservoir de séparation (12) dans lequel la graisse et l'eau présentes dans l'effluent se séparent, la graisse flottant à la surface de l'eau. On chauffe la graisse jusqu'à liquéfaction puis, au moyen d'une pompe (110), on extrait cette graisse du réservoir de séparation (12) lorsque l'épaisseur de graisse a atteint un niveau préétabli (150) en dessous d'une surface supérieure de l'effluent dans le réservoir de séparation. On interrompt le pompage de la graisse du réservoir de séparation (12) après une période de temps préétablie.
