A pacing protocol is provided that reduces or minimizes ventricular pacing in favor of intrinsic conduction. When operating in a mode that provides ventricular pacing, a series of conduction checks are performed to determine if intrinsic conduction has returned. These conduction checks occur according to a predetermined pattern that generally includes longer intervals between subsequent attempts. The AV interval provided for dual chamber based pacing is modulated and generally moves from a larger value to a nominal value as the interval between unsuccessful conduction checks increases.
L'invention concerne un protocole de stimulation permettant de réduire ou de minimiser la stimulation ventriculaire au profit de la conduction intrinsèque. Pendant que le stimulateur fonctionne selon un mode de stimulation ventriculaire, une série de contrôles de conduction sont effectués afin de déterminer si une conduction intrinsèque est rétablie. Ces contrôles de conduction se produisent selon un rythme prédéterminé qui comporte en général des intervalles de plus en plus longs entre les tentatives successives. L'intervalle AV produit pour une stimulation double chambre, subit une modulation, et évolue généralement d'une valeur plus élevée vers une valeur nominale à mesure que l'intervalle entre les contrôles de conduction ne donnant pas de résultat augmente.
