A novel galactose transferase C1Gal-T2 comprising an ORF of 957 bp and another novel galactose transferase C1Gal-T3 comprising an ORF of 948 bp are successfully identified. It is suggested that these enzymes are core 1 sugar chain (galactose .beta.1-3 acetylgalactosaminyl .alpha.1-R) synthases. These enzymes and polynucleotides encoding the same are expected as appropriately usable as remedies for diseases caused by failures in the expression or functions of these enzymes.
Une nouvelle galactose transférase C1Ga1-T2 comprenant un ORF de 957 bp ainsi qu'une galactose transférase C1Ga1-T3 comprenant un ORF de 948 bp ont été identifiées avec succès. On suggère que ces enzymes sont des synthases de chaîne de sucre de structure 1 (galactose .beta.1-3 acétylgalactosaminyl .alpha.1-R).
