A holder for a hot plate mounted in a recess of a kitchen range top has a frame and a mounting unit. The hot plate is supported on a supporting section of the frame or mounting unit and the frame can be joined to the mounting unit in a simple manner by providing locking projections and locking recesses in the frame and mounting unit, which are both shaped in a single piece, for locking together the frame and the mounting unit into a subassembly.
