In a cordless telephone, a homing device, is known to have the ability to locate the cordless handset telephone from it's telephone base. In this invention, the homing device (named: Chirper) is an entity on it's own. It is a small1 device that is versatile. In other words, it is possible to attach the Chirper onto various items. Additionally, it is possible to detach it from items so as to attach it to others. This mobility is what makes it unique from the telephone homing device, which in contrast, is embedded into the phone and therefore dedicated to the location of the telephone headset alone. The Chirper may be attached to a various household items (according to the discretion of the owner) it uses sound and light (Figure 3) to signal the location of the item that it has been placed in.
