The Tension Buster is a self-help device where the user fully regulates it's usage. For functional use the device is attached (to a wall, doorjamb, archway etc.) or rested (leaned) against an object (wall, chair back, floor etc.). The device is utilized in a manner where the user will lean and/or push with varying degrees of force against it. The Tension Buster device is used to: relax tense and/or spastic tissues (eg. muscles, tendons, ligaments (fascia etc.), pressure point myofascial trigger points, manipulate and adjust fixed and/or stiff joint complexes (primarily of the spine), etc. The choice of probe used, from the variety of probes available, will determine the physiological affects. The larger ball-type probe will result in less tissue pressure than the pointed or roller-type probe when using the same amount of lean, lay or push force. This allows the user not only to determine the position of contact but also the amount of force-pressure that the probe delivers to the contact point.
