A device for releasably mounting an adapter designed for coupling two fiberopticconnectors, e.g. SC connectors, has a body with a cavity sized to match the outside profile of the adapter when inserted in said cavity for a securely captive position. The adapter has two outside spring clips. The cavity has a bottom wall, two side walls, an upper wall and two détentes disposed to engage the spring clips when the adapter is fully inserted into the cavity. A leaf spring is disposed at the bottom of the cavity and is adapted to bias the adapter towards the upper wall of the cavity whereby the spring clips engage the détentes. The bottom wall and the spring are designed to form an enlargement of the cavity in the front part thereof when the spring is depressed, the enlargement enabling a manual tilting of the adapter causing a disengagement of the clips with the détentes whereby the adapter can be removed. The simple design of the mounting device permits a quick mounting of the adapter and its removal from the cavity by manual depression of the part of the adapter projecting from the cavity. The inner-side connector is pulled out through the cavity along with the adapter and may be easily removed for cleaning.
Dispositif pour monter de façon non permanente un adaptateur destiné au couplage de deux connecteurs de fibres optiques, p. ex. des connecteurs SC. Comprend un corps ayant une cavité dont la taille est adaptée au profil extérieur de l'adaptateur de façon que celui-ci tienne bien en place lorsqu'il y est inséré. L'adaptateur a deux pinces-ressorts extérieures. La dépression a une paroi inférieure, deux parois latérales, une paroi supérieure et deux détentes disposées pour s'accrocher aux pinces-ressorts lorsque l'adaptateur est entièrement inséré dans la cavité. Un ressort à lames, disposé au fond de la cavité, est adapté de façon à incliner l'adaptateur vers la paroi supérieure de la cavité, les pinces-ressorts s'accrochant ainsi aux détentes. La paroi inférieure et le ressort sont conçus pour prolonger la cavité vers l'avant lorsque le ressort est abaissé, ce prolongement permettant d'incliner manuellement l'adaptateur et ainsi de décrocher les pinces au moyen des détentes pour retirer l'adaptateur. La conception simple du dispositif de montage permet de monter rapidement l'adaptateur et de le retirer de la cavité en abaissant manuellement la partie dudit adaptateur qui sort de la cavité. Le connecteur intérieur se retire de la cavité en même temps que l'adaptateur et s'enlève facilement pour le nettoyage.
