Polyalkyl hydroxy and amino aromatic carbamates having formula (I) or a fuel- soluble salt thereof; wherein X is hydroxy or amino; R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, hydroxy, lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, lower alkoxy having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, nitro, amino, N-alkylamino wherein the alkyl group contains 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or N,N-dialkylamino wherein each alkyl group independently contains 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and R4 is a polyalkyl group having an average molecular weight in the range of about 400 to 5,000. The polyalkyl hydroxy and amino aromatic carbamates of formula (I) are useful as fuel additives for the prevention and control of engine deposits.
L'invention concerne des carbamates d'hydroxy polyalkyl et amino aromatiques de formule (I) ou leur sel soluble dans le carburant; formule dans laquelle X représente hydroxy ou amino; R¿1? et R¿2? représentent indépendamment hydrogène, hydroxy, alkyl inférieur possédant de 1 à 6 atomes de carbones, nitro, amino, N-alkylamino dans lequel le groupe alkyl contient de 1 à 6 atomes de carbone, ou un N, N-dialkylamino dans lequel chaque groupe alkyl contient indépendamment de 1 à 6 atomes de carbone; R¿3? représente hydrogène ou alkyle inférieur possédant de 1 à 6 atomes de carbone; et R¿4? représente un groupe polyalkyle possédant un poids moléculaire moyen compris entre 400 et 5000. Les carbamates d'hydroxy polyalkyle et amino aromatiques de formule (I) sont destinés à être utilisés comme additifs pour carburant pour la prévention et la régulation des dépôts dans le moteur.
