The present invention discloses a passive motor vehicle air filtration system. According to the invention, an air filter assembly generally comprises at least one filter element is selected and a bracket is provided securing the filter to the vehicle behind a forwardly disposed radiator. A vehicle equipped with this feature is driven forward, with the resulting airstream flowing through the radiator toward the vehicle engine, passing through the filtration system, and subsequently is cleansed of particulate atmospheric pollutants. Various chemical compounds may be added to the filter to absorb and/or neutralize other- atmospheric pollutants. The vehicle radiator also acts as a source of passive heat for the present filter, which heat serves to accelerate various chemical reactions within the filter to increase its efficiency.
