La présente invention concerne un procédé de synthèse de cyanures d'acyle de formule: Image dans laquelle R désigne un radical alkyle, cycloalkyle, aryle ou un reste hétérocyclique consistant à faire réagir des halogénures d'acide de formule: Image dans laquelle R a la définition précédente et X désigne un halogène, avec des cyanures alcalins, caractérisé en ce que la réaction a lieu: a) en milieu solvant anhydre, b) en présence d'un produit contenant des motifs oxyde d'alkylène, c) en présence d'un produit polaire, l'eau étant exclue. Ces cyanures d'acyle sont des intermédiaires de synthèse par exemple des herbicides.
