After passing through a Faraday sensor device (3), linearly polarised measuring light (L) is broken down in an analyser (7) into two diffently polarised partial light signals (L1, L2). The intensity of the corresponding electric signals (I1, I2) is normal by dividing their alternating signal component by their direct signal component. A measuring signal S = (2*S1*S2)/((S2-S1)+K*(S1+S2)) is derived from the two normalised intensity signals, in which cos(2.theta.+2)=-2/(3K) and sin(2.theta.-2)=1 stand for a correction factor K, an injection angle between the polarisation plane of the injected measurement light (L) and a proper axis of the linear double-fraction in the sensor device (3) and a decoupling angle .theta. between this proper axis and a natural axis of the analyser (7).

Après passage à travers un dispositif de détection de Faraday (3), la lumière de mesure (L) polarisée linéairement est décomposée dans un analyseur (7) en deux signaux lumineux partiels (L1, L2) polarisés de manière différente. L'intensité des signaux (I1, I2) électriques correspondants est normalisée par division de leur composante alternative par leur composante continue respective. Un signal de mesure S = (2*S1*S2)/((S2-S1)+K*(S1+S2)) est dérivé des deux signaux à intensité normalisée. cos(2.theta.+2?)=-2/(3K) et sin(2.theta.-2?)=1 correspondent à un facteur de correction K, à un angle d'injection ? entre le plan de polarisation de la lumière de mesure (L) injectée par rapport à un axe propre de la biréfringence linéaire dans le dispositif de détection (3) et à un angle de sortie .theta. entre cet axe propre et un axe propre de l'analyseur (7).
