A method that allows a search engine to find a document and allows a potential buyer to review portions of the document (12). The invention provides a plain text index (14) to the document that may be searched by the internet engines and reviewed by potential buyers of the document. The full text of the document remains encrypted and managed by a Digital Rights Management (DRM) package. The index is synchronized and hides contextual information (13) so that potential buyers may determine whether they want to obtain rights to review the document.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant à un moteur de recherche de trouver un document et à un acheteur potentiel d'examiner des parties du document (12). L'invention permet d'obtenir un index texte en clair (14) pour le document devant être recherché par les moteurs sur Internet et examiné par les acheteurs potentiels. Le texte intégral du document reste chiffré et géré par un progiciel de gestion des droits numériques. L'index est synchronisé et cache les informations contextuelles (13) de sorte que les acheteurs potentiels puissent déterminer s'ils souhaitent obtenir les droits pour examiner le document.
