A syringe system requires a decreased vertical travel for sealing during a lyophilization process and therefore provides for increased utilization of space in a lyophilization chamber. The syringe system is provided with a sterility maintenance sleeve including a stopper affixed thereto for sealingly engaging the syringe barrel to define a drug chamber. The sterility maintenance sleeve is provided with a venting passage to permit egress of vapor from the drug chamber during lyophilization. A plug cap cooperating with the sterility maintenance sleeve includes an occluding tip whigh is adapted to occupy the venting passage and seal the drug chamber after lyophilization. The plug cap is provided with a support structure in the form of flexible fins for supporting the plug cap in a venting position in which the occluding tip is removed from the venting passage to permit egress of drug solution vapor from the drug chamber during lyophilization. After lyophilization, the plug cap is moved into a sealing position in which the drug chamber is sealed against contamination.
L'invention concerne un système de seringue qui, pour passer en position de fermeture étanche lors d'un procédé de lyophilisation, doit effectuer une course verticale réduite, ce qui permet une meilleure utilisation de l'espace dans une chambre de lyophilisation. Le système de seringue selon l'invention est pourvu d'un manchon de maintien de la stérilité, sur lequel est fixée une butée, ledit manchon étant destiné à venir au contact hermétique du cylindre de la seringue et à définir ainsi une chambre pour les médicaments. Le manchon de maintien de la stérilité comporte un passage d'aération conçu pour permettre l'évacuation de la vapeur hors de la chambre pour médicaments lors de la lyophilisation. Un capuchon coopérant avec ledit manchon de maintien de la stérilité comporte une pointe d'occlusion conçue pour occuper le passage d'aération et fermer hermétiquement la chambre pour médicaments après la lyophilisation. Le capuchon est également pourvu d'une structure de support se présentant sous la forme d'ailettes flexibles, lesquelles servent à soutenir le capuchon dans une position d'aération où la pointe d'occlusion est extraite du passage d'aération afin de permettre l'évacuation de la vapeur de la solution médicamenteuse hors de la chambre pour médicaments après la lyophilisation. Après lyophilisation, le capuchon passe en position de fermeture étanche, où la chambre pour médicaments est hermétiquement scellée et ainsi préservée de toute contamination.
