A process is described for loading and unloading short-cycle or coating presses with coated material for pressing. First, the pressing chamber is opened and a first transport device is inserted. Next, a second transport device is inserted in the pressing chamber and the pressing material is clamped down in the pressing region. The pressed plate in the pressing chamber is then grabbed and deposited onto a lower heating element in the pressing chamber. The pressed plate is then deposited in the discharge region.
