A novel method for removing a lead sulfate film formed on an electrode of a lead-acid battery by decomposing the film into a particulate state without causing the film to come off or float, thereby recovering the performance of the lead-acid battery and prolonging the life. The electrodes of the battery are not damaged and noise is not produced externally. The method for removing a lead sulfate film formed by sulfation on an electrode of a lead-acid battery is characterized in that a pulse current with a short pulse width causing a skin effect is applied and thereby the surface portion of the film is concentratedly decomposed. The pulse width of the pulse current is preferably 1 microsecond or less.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour retirer un film de sulfate de plomb formé sur une électrode d'un accumulateur au plomb. Ce procédé consiste à décomposer le film afin de le mettre à l'état particulaire, sans détacher ni faire flotter le film, ce qui permet de retrouver la performance de l'accumulateur au plomb et de prolonger sa durée de vie. Les électrodes de cet accumulateur ne se trouvent pas endommagées et aucune production externe de bruit n'est engendrée. Le procédé pour retirer un film de sulfate de plomb formé par sulfatation sur une électrode d'un accumulateur au plomb est caractérisé par l'application d'un courant pulsé à faible largeur d'impulsion induisant un effet pelliculaire, ce qui permet de décomposer de façon concentrée la partie superficielle du film. La largeur d'impulsion du courant pulsé est de préférence inférieure ou égale à 1 microseconde.
