An apparatus and method for initiating a broadcast service in a mobile communication system. During a broadcast service from a base station(BS), a mobile station (MS) receives configuration information for neighbor BSs from the service BS. The configuration information indicates whether a handoff from the service BS to the neighbor BSs is possible and whether the neighbor BSs are providing the broadcast service. During a handoff to a new BS, if the new BS is a neighbor BS of the service BS and the new BS is not providing the broadcast service, the MS requests the new BS to initiate the broadcast service. If there is a BS not providing the broadcast service, the MS requests the service BS to initiate the broadcast service. The service BS then requests the neighbor BSs to initiate the broadcast service.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de lancement d'un service de diffusion par une station mobile dans un système de communications mobiles. En l'occurrence, pendant un service de diffusion depuis une station de base (BS), une station mobile (MS) reçoit en provenance de la station de base de service des informations de configuration concernant les stations de base voisines. Ces informations de configuration permettent de savoir si la station de base de service est capable de passer la main aux stations de base voisines et si ces stations de base voisines assurent le service de diffusion. A l'occasion d'un tel transfert de commande à une nouvelle station de base, si cette dernière est une station de base voisine de la station de base de service et que cette nouvelle station de base n'assure pas le service de diffusion, la station mobile demande à la nouvelle station de base de lancer le service de diffusion. Si l'une des stations de base n'assure pas le service de diffusion, la station mobile demande à la station de base de service de lancer le service de diffusion. La station de base de service demande alors à la station de base voisine de lancer le service de diffusion.
