In some embodiments the apparatus may take the form of a member which may be a guidewire, which may comprise delivery holes and markers and may be comprised in a catheter assembly. The methods and apparatus may be used to prevent or mitigate the reperfusion injury associated with the clearing of vascular occlusions.
