ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A Tape reel made of synthetic resin includes a generally cylindrical reel hub on which a tape is wound, and a generally circular flange integrally connected with one end of the reel hub. The opening of the other end of the reel hub is substantially closed with a rib portion, and a sub-flange is connected with the other end of the reel hub by thermally welding a projection of the sub-flange with the rib portion. A relatively thin cylindrical portion is formed on the other end of the reel hub and the top of the cylindrical portion is separated from the sub-flange.
