A system is provided for expanding a tubular element extending into a wellbore formed in an earth formation. The system comprises an expander arranged to expand the tubular element by virtue of axial movement of the expander through the tubular element, an activating system for inducing the expander to move through the tubular element, the activating system including at least one activating tool, and a control system for controlling the activating system, including a remote control unit and for each activating tool a respective controller. The remote control unit is arranged to transmit an acoustic signal to an acoustic conductor selected from said tubular element and another elongate member extending into the borehole, each controller being arranged to receive said acoustic signal from the acoustic conductor and to control the corresponding activating tool upon receipt of said acoustic signal.

L'invention concerne un système permettant l'expansion d'un élément tubulaire dans un puits formé dans une formation terrestre. Ce système comprend un expanseur destiné à l'expansion de l'élément tubulaire par un mouvement axial de l'expandeur dans l'élément tubulaire ; un système d'activation permettant d'amener l'expandeur à se déplacer dans l'élément tubulaire, ce système d'activation comprenant au moins un outil d'activation, et un système de commande permettant de commander le système d'activation, y compris l'unité de télécommande et, pour chaque outil d'activation, un contrôleur respectif. L'unité de tétécommande permet de transmettre un signal acoustique à un conducteur acoustique sélectionné parmi cet élément tubulaire et un autre membre allongé s'étendant dans le puits, chaque contrôleur étant destiné à recevoir ce signal acoustique provenant du conducteur acoustique et à commander l'outil d'activation correspondant à la réception de ce signal acoustique.
