A container construction is characterized by a container having a bottom and sidewall portions and being sized and configured so that, absent other restraints, an infant might undesirably insert its head and/or head and shoulders into the container. The construction further in- cludes structure for preventing an infant from drowning in liquid which might be in the container. The structure for preventing drowning may include any of a combination of: lid members having reduced openings therein; downwardly pro- truding portions in the bottom portion of said container to cause the container to tip and spill any liquid therein if an infant leans on or otherwise applies force to the upper edge of the sidewall portion; and/or upwardly protruding post members to prevent an infant from inserting its head too far into the container. A variety of additional fea- tures are disclosed with respect to each of those various drowning-prevention structures.
