A method for inhibiting platelet aggregation in a patient in need thereof, comprising 1) administering to the patient a bolus injection of an active drug, in an amount of between about 25 ~g/kg, and 2) administering to the patient, after the bolus injection, an intravenous infusion for a period of between about 12 hours and about 72 hours, of the active drug, in an amount of about 0.15 ~g/kg/min, wherein the active drug is tirofiban or a salt thereof.

L'invention concerne une méthode qui permet d'inhiber l'agrégation plaquettaire chez un patient nécessitant un tel traitement. Cette méthode consiste : 1) à administrer au patient une injection bolus d'un médicament actif à raison d'environ 25 ?g/kg ; et 2) à administrer au patient, après l'injection bolus, une infusion intraveineuse du médicament actif pendant une période allant d'environ 12 heures à environ 72 heures, à raison d'environ 0,15 ?g/kg/min. Le médicament actif est du tirofiban ou un sel de ce dernier.
