ABSTRACT A machine for the over-molding of a thermoplastic material on connectors crimped on the stripped ends of conductors has a conveyor extending from the crimping machine to carry the connectors to three stations. At the first station, a core is positioned at portions of the connector which have to be kept protected from an over-molding. A second station has an injection press with tools maintained at a suitable temperature to facilitate introduction therein of an over-molding material. A third station has a press provided with molding tools similar to that of the injection press, but maintained at a temperature lower than that for which an injection of thermoplastic material would be possible. A process for over-molding connectors with a thermoplastic material in which an over-mold connector is extracted from an injection press before complete cooling of the thermoplastic material involves the carrying of an over-molded connector into a mold of a second press wherein the connector is maintained at a temperature lower than that for which an injection of thermoplastic material would be possible. The transfer of the connector from the injection press to the second press is sufficiently rapid to prevent deformation of the thermoplastic material which is still not solidified.
