The invention relates to phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazolone derivatives with phenyl group and to their physiologically acceptable salts and physiologically functional derivatives showing PPARdelta agonist activity. What is described are compounds of the formula (I) in which the radicals are as defined, and their physiologically acceptable salts and processes for their preparations. The compounds are suitable for the treatment and/or prevention of disorders of fatty acid metabolism and glucose utilization disorders as well as of disorders in which insulin resistance is involved and demyelinating and other neurodegenerative disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de phényl-1,2,4-oxadiazolone comportant un groupe phényl, et leurs sels acceptables sur le plan physiologique, ainsi que leurs dérivés fonctionnels sur le plan physiologique démontrant une activité d'agonistes de PPARdelta. Elle concerne des composés représentés par la formule (I) dans laquelle les radicaux sont tels qu'ils sont définis dans les revendications, leurs sels acceptables sur le plan physiologique et des procédés servant à les préparer. Ces composés sont adaptés pour traiter et/ou prévenir des troubles du métabolisme des acides gras et des troubles de l'utilisation du glucose et, également, des troubles dans lesquels la résistance à l'insuline joue un rôle, la démyélination ou d'autres maladies neurodégénératives du système nerveux central et périphérique.
