The invention pertains to a method and a device for desalting water by reverse osmosis, particularly for desalting seawater, in which saltwater is introduced under a first pressure into a pressure-compensation device and conducted from the pressure-compensation device at a second, higher pressure into a membrane module, wherein desalted water and concentrated saltwater are conducted out of the membrane module, wherein the concentrated saltwater conducted out of the membrane module is continuously introduced at roughly the second pressure into the pressure- compensation device and used there to apply roughly the second pressure to saltwater introduced into the pressure-compensation device and to introduce saltwater into the membrane module, and wherein the introduction of concentrated saltwater into the pressure-compensation device and the conduction of concentrated saltwater out of the pressure- compensation device are accomplished by means of controlled main valves. The main valves are subject to high mechanical stresses, particularly during the opening and closing of the valves. To reduce or avoid these, it is provided according to the invention that secondary valves arranged in parallel with the main valves are controlled such that load peaks during opening and/or closing of the main valves are reduced.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de dessaler l'eau par osmose inverse, notamment l'eau de mer. L'eau salée (10) est cédée à une première pression (p1) à un dispositif compensateur de pression (2) et, de là, elle est cédée à une deuxième pression (p2) plus élevée à un module à membrane (3). Le module à membrane (3) délivre de l'eau dessalée (12) et de l'eau salée concentrée (13), l'eau salée concentrée (13) délivrée par le module à membrane (3) étant cédée en continu approximativement à la deuxième pression (p2) au dispositif compensateur de pression (2) où elle agit sur l'eau salée (10) introduite dans le dispositif compensateur de pression (2) avec approximativement la deuxième pression (p2) et sert à l'introduction de l'eau salée (11) dans le module membrane (3). L'introduction de l'eau salée concentrée (13) dans le dispositif compensateur de pression (2) et la délivrance de l'eau salée concentrée (14) par le dispositif compensateur de pression (2) s'effectuent à l'aide de valves principales commandées (V1, V3, V4, V6). Lors de l'ouverture et de la fermeture des valves, les valves principales sont alors soumises à de très fortes contraintes mécaniques. Pour réduire ou empêcher ces contraintes selon l'invention, des valves auxiliaires (V2, V2', V5, V5') placées parallèlement aux valves principales (V1, V3, V4, V6) sont commandées de telle façon que, lors de l'ouverture et/ou la fermeture des valves principales (V1, V3, V4, V6), des pointes de contraintes sont évitées.
