An electronic shelf having a back plane and side walls which are themselves printed circuit boards in communication with the back plane. Each side walls has connectors which may be opened for the sliding reception of an edge card into the shelf, the connectors then being closed to make electrical contact with the edge cards through terminals in the connector. Each connector has flexible conductors to permit opening and closing of the connector and conveniently the flexible conductors are provided by a flexible cable. Use of flexible cable permits minimizing distances between conductors and terminals. Also covered is an electrical connecor with specific features suitable for its use upon a side wall of the shelf.

L'invention est un châssis électronique ayant un fond de panier et des parois latérales qui sont elles-mêmes des cartes de circuit imprimé connectées au fond de panier. Chacune des parois latérales porte des connecteurs qui peuvent être ouverts pour recevoir le bord d'une carte que l'on peut faire glisser dans le châssis, ces connecteurs étant ensuite fermés pour établir le contact électrique avec les cartes par l'intermédiaire de leurs bornes. Chaque connecteur comporte des conducteurs souples qui permettent de l'ouvrir et de le fermer, ces conducteurs se trouvant dans un câble souple. L'utilisation d'un câble souple permet de minimiser les distances entre les conducteurs et les bornes. L'invention comprend également un connecteur électrique à caractéristiques particulières approprié à une utilisation sur l'une des parois latérales du châssis.
