A cambering vehicle includes a single steerable front wheel (58) and a pair of rear wheels (70, 72) at the rearward ends of trailing arms (16, 18) extending from the front structure. The two arms are articulated to the front structure, and move arcuately in plane parallel to the steering column. In one embodiment the arms are linked by a yoke (40), and traverse equal arcuate distances in opposite directions relative to one another. In another embodiment the yoke is replaced by a transverse link (140), with elastomer bushing (141, 143) connecting the link ends to their respective arms. The vehicle operates using the principle of conservation of angular momentum, with the vehicle travelling a sinusoidal path and the operator leaning to the inside of the turn. This moves the center of gravity of the vehicle and operator to the inside of the turn, thus accelerating vehicle and operator along the turning path to increase velocity of the device.
La présente invention concerne un véhicule basculant qui comprend une roue avant directrice unique (58) et une paire de roues arrières (70, 72), situées aux extrémités arrières de bras longitudinaux (16, 18) qui s'étendent à partir de la structure avant. Les deux bras sont articulés sur la structure avant et se déplacent de façon arquée dans des plans parallèles à la colonne de direction. Dans un mode de réalisation de cette invention, les bras sont reliés par une fourche (40) et parcourent des distances arquées égales, dans des sens opposés l'un par rapport à l'autre. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de cette invention, la fourche est remplacée par une liaison transversale (140), des bagues en élastomère (141, 143) permettant la connexion des extrémités de liaison aux bras respectifs. Le véhicule fonctionne en utilisant le principe de conservation du moment cinétique, ledit véhicule parcourant un trajet sinusoïdal et le conducteur se penchant vers l'intérieur du virage. Ceci déplace le centre de gravité du véhicule et du conducteur vers l'intérieur du virage, accélérant le véhicule et le conducteur le long du trajet du virage, afin d'augmenter la vitesse du dispositif.
