A flow-through fluid reservoir (10) includes a body (12) with a first fluid port (26), a member (60) movable within the body (12) by an actuator (80) to increase or decrease a volume (61) of a chamber (18) defined by a sidewall (14) of the body (12). Actuator (80) has a second fluid port (88). Movable member (60) has a fluid path (70) therethrough such that fluid ports (26, 88) are in fluid communication irrespective of the position of the movable member (60) or the volume of chamber (18). A shaped slot (100) on the shell (89) of the actuator (80) and a projection (40) on the body (12) cooperate to constrain relative movement of the body (12) and actuator (80) along a path corresponding to the shaped slot (100). The slot (100) advantageously may include a stop (106) intermediate therealong. A canted portion (122) of the slot (100) may be used to initiate relative movement of the member (60) within body (12). The body (12) includes an end wall (24) through which the first fluid port (26) communicates. A shroud (28) is defined by a coaxial extension of the sidewall(14) beyond the end wall (24) to surround the first fluid port, and gripping elements (30) may be provided on the shroud (28). The projection (40) may include a vent (42) communicating into a space (160) between a flexible barrier (140) and an internal wall (16) of the body (12). The slot (100) may also have a one-way opening (130) with a cammed roof (132). A clip (300, 300') may be provided for mounting the reservoir (10) and includes a support member (302, 302') supporting a clip member (304) which releasably receives the shroud (28) and supports a mounting member (306) such as for, a sample site (206).
