A nucleic acid molecule which interacts with reverse transcriptase of a retrovirus. The nucleic acid molecule comprises a nucleotide sequence essentially composed of two stem-loop structures and a short bridge between the two stems, which molecule for the purposes of the interaction with reverse transcriptase is analogous to the dihydrouridine (D) -stem-loop and anticodon (A) -stem-loop of a mammalian transfer RNA (tRNA). Optionally, in the nucleic acid molecule, some or all of the normal phosphodiester nucleoside linkages have been substituted with phosphorothioate linkages. The invention further relates to the use of said nucleic acid molecule for the manufacture of a medicament for the inhibition of the interaction of HIV-1 and HIV-2 reverse transcriptase with tRNALys3.

L'invention concerne une molécule d'acide nucléique qui coopère avec la transcriptase inverse d'un rétrovirus. La molécule d'acide nucléique comprend une séquence nucléotidique sensiblement composée de deux structures tige-boucle et d'un pont court entre les deux tiges. Cette molécule destinée à l'interaction avec la transcriptase inverse est analogue à la tige-boucle dihydrouridine (D) et à la tige-boucle anticodon (A) d'un ARN de transfert d'un mammifère. Eventuellement, toutes les liaisons phosphodiester nucléoside ou certaines d'entre elles, dans la molécule d'acide nucléique, sont substituées par des liaisons phosphorothioate. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de cette molécule d'acide nucléique pour la production d'un médicament destiné à l'inhibition de l'interaction de la transcriptase inverse HIV-1 et HIV-2 et de l'ARNt?Lys3¿.
