The invention provides methods and kits for obtaining a prognosis for a patient having or at risk of developing an inflammatory condition. The method generally comprises determining a protein C promoter genotype of a patient for a polymorphism in the protein C promoter region of the patient, comparing the determined genotype with known genotypes for the polymorphism that correspond with the ability of the patient to recover from the inflammatory condition and identifying patients based on their prognosis. The invention also provides for methods of identifying other polymorphisms that correspond with the ability of the patient to recover from the inflammatory condition.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des kits d'obtention d'un pronostic concernant un patient présentant le risque de développer un trouble inflammatoire. Le procédé consiste généralement à déterminer un génotype de promoteur de protéine C concernant un polymorphisme dans un site de promoteur de protéine C chez le patient, à comparer le génotype déterminé aux génotypes connus concernant le polymorphisme, correspondant à la capacité pour le patient de guérir de l'inflammation, et à identifier des patients grâce à leur diagnostic. L'invention concerne aussi des procédés d'identification d'autres polymorphismes correspondant à la capacité pour le patient de guérir de troubles inflammatoires.
