The invention provides a semi-rigid thermoplastic window frame for installation within an opening in a wall of the cabin of a boat or trailer. The frame comprises flanges defining an outer channel which receives the edge portion of the wall opening and also comprises flanges defining an inner channel holding the glass pane. The window assembly is installed without the need of special tools or mechanical fasteners. The installation procedure is performed by manually distorting the frame to make it fit the wall opening. The frame is then released and it expands to firmly engage the periphery of the wall opening by virtue of its inherent resiliency. The pane is installed next by manually bending the outer flange of the inner channel to create a sufficient clearance allowing to insert the edges of the pane in the inner channel. With the pane in place, the frame becomes structurally integrated to the wall providing a rigid and stable window assembly.
