Radial tire (10) having at least one tread reinforcement (13) and one body reinforcement (14) consisting of at least one ply (20) of rubber-bonded fabric (24) having radial cords (25) substantially parallel to the radial direction (xx'), the said radial ply comprising at least one covering weld (21) formed by overlapping two edges (22, 23) of the said fabric (24) and circumferentially limited by two strips (28, 29) distinctive in that the said weld (21) comprises, at each of the said edges (22, 23), at least one cutout (26, 27) located under the tread reinforcement (13), sectioning a plurality of radial cords (25). The invention tire, compared with radial tires typical of the prior art, presents an exterior sidewall aspect that is significantly improved.
Pneumatique radial (10) ayant au moins une armature de sommet (13) et une armature de carcasse (14) constituée d'au moins une nappe (20) de tissu caoutchouté (24) comprenant des fils radiaux (25) sensiblement parallèles à la direction radiale (xx'), ladite nappe radiale comportant au moins une soudure par recouvrement (21) formée par le chevauchement de deux bords (22, 23) dudit tissu (24) et limitée circonférentiellement par deux lisières (28, 29), caractérisé en ce que ladite soudure (21) comporte, en chacun desdits bords (22, 23), au moins une découpe (26, 27) localisée sous l'armature de sommet (13), sectionnant une pluralité de fils radiux (25). Le pneu de l'invention, comparé aux pneus radiaux classiques de l'art antérieur, présente un aspect extérieur des flancs qui est nettement amélioré.
