A preform comprising at least a layer of polyester resin and having a neck ring at a mouth part formed by compression molding, characterized in that the polyester layer at its bottom center or under the neck ring has a temperature difference (.DELTA.Tc), represented by the following formula, of <= 15~C, .DELTA.Tc = Tc2-Tc1 wherein Tc1 is a heating crystallization peak temperature determined by measuring a polyester layer cut out from the preform by means of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and Tc2 a heating crystallization peak temperature determined by, after the determination of Tc1, conducting melting and quenching and thereafter measuring. Consequently, there can be obtained a preform of reduced molding strain excelling in the dimensional stability at crystallization of the mouth part. The molded item obtained by stretch blow molding of this preform is free from any deviation of wall thickness and any occurrence of flaw or wrinkle and excels in appearance characteristics.

Une ébauche comprenant au moins une couche de résine polyester et comportant une bague de col au niveau d'une pièce de bec formée par moulage par compression, caractérisée en ce que la couche de polyester, au niveau de son centre bas, ou en dessous de la bague de col, présente une différence de température (DTc) représentée par la formule suivante : en dessous de 15 °C, DTc = Tc2-Tc1 où Tc1 est une température de crête de cristallisation par chauffage déterminée en mesurant une découpe de couche de polyester provenant de l'ébauche au moyen d'un calorimètre différentiel à balayage (DSC), et où Tc2 est une température de crête de cristallisation par chauffage déterminée, après la détermination de Tc1, par fusion par conduction et par trempe et ensuite par une mesure. En conséquence, on peut obtenir une ébauche présentant une contrainte réduite par moulage qui excelle en termes de stabilité dimensionnelle à la cristallisation de la pièce de bec. L'élément moulé, obtenu par moulage par soufflage-étirage de cette ébauche est exempt de tout écart d'épaisseur de parois et de toute apparition de fissure ou de replitout comme il excelle en termes de caractéristiques d'aspect.
