A IFN-.beta. mutein in which phe (F), tyr (Y), trp (W) or his (H) is substituted for val (V) at position 101, when numbered in accordance with wild type IFN-.beta., DNA sequences encoding these IFN-.beta. muteins, recombinant DNA molecules containing those DNA sequences operatively linked to expression control sequences and capable of inducing expression of an IFN-.beta. mutein, hosts transformed with those recombinant DNA molecules, pharmaceutical compositions containing IFN-.beta. muteins and methods of using those compositions to treat viral infections, cancer or tumors or for immunomodulation.
L'invention concerne une mutéine d'IFN-.beta. dans laquelle on substitue phe (F), tyr (Y), trp (W) ou his (H) à val (V) en position 101, lorsqu'on les numérote en fonction de l'IFN-.beta. de type sauvage, des séquences d'ADN codant ces mutéines d'IFN-.beta., des molécules d'ADN recombinées contenant ces séquences d'ADN liées fonctionnellement à des séquences témoins d'expression et capables d'induire l'expression d'une mutéine d'IFN-.beta., des hôtes transformés à l'aide de ces molécules d'ADN recombinées, des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant des mutéines d'IFN-.beta., ainsi que des procédés d'utilisation de ces compositions pour traiter des infections virales, le cancer ou bien des tumeurs, ou pour l'immunomodulation.
