TRAP DEVICE FOR AN AIR REGISTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An insert device for an air outlet register of a heating system comprises a screen mesh material in the form of an open box extending into the hole in the floor to a distance sufficient to receive the air register body. The screen mesch material can have a flange at the top edge to be attached over the surface of the floor. The screen mesh material does not act as a filter in any way but simply stops any articles dropped through the register by a child or accidentally from entering the duct and becomining lost.
