Information at a vendor relates to inventory of products sold to a customer. The customer programs a databot at the vendor, in accordance with rules established by the customer, to have the vendor specify to the customer at particular times the inventory at the vendor for the products. In accordance with this programming, the vendor provides to the customer at the particular times through a databot the information relating to the inventories of the products at the vendor. The customer indicates to the vendor whether it wants the products shipped promptly or at a specified later time. The vendor records this information in a data base and gives the customer a report, at times, of the status of the orders including products shipped and products to be shipped.

Cette invention concerne, chez un distributeur, des informations sur des stocks de produits vendus à un client. Chez ce distributeur, le client programme un logiciel de référence conformément à des règles établis par lui client, demandant au distributeur de l'informer à certaines dates de l'état des stocks de produits. Selon cette programmation, le distributeur fournit à ces dates des informations sur les stocks de produits au moyen du logiciel de référence. Le client indique au vendeur s'il souhaite qu'on lui expédie les produits sans retard ou bien à une date ultérieure spécifiée. Le distributeur enregistre cette information dans une base de données et informe le client à intervalles réguliers de l'état des commandes, notamment en ce qui concerne les produits expédiés ou à expédier.
