The present invention provides a human tumor-associated antigen (TUAN) and polynucleotides which identify and encode TUAN. The antigen is related to the transmembrane 4, super family (TM4SF) and is similar to L6 antigen. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, agonists, antibodies and antagonists. In addition, the invention provides methods for producing TUAN and for treating or preventing disorders associated with expression of TUAN.
