The invention relates to new catalysts useful for liquid-phase fluorination of halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbons, particularly chlorinated derivatives of ethane and ethylene. These catalysts consist of mixtures of an antimony trihalide and a titanium tetrahalide. Such mixtures are much more effective than each halide taken separately.
