Monoamide-containing polyether alcohol compounds of formula (I), wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each independently selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyl of 1 to 100 carbon atoms, susbtituted hydrocarbyl of 1 to 100 carbon atoms and polyoxyalkylene alcohol of 2 to 200 carbon atoms or R2 and R3 taken together form a heterocyclic group of 2 to 100 carbon atoms or a substituted heterocyclic group of 2 to 100 carbon atoms with the proviso that at least one of R1, R2 or R3 must be polyoxyalkylene alcohol, have been found to decrease intake valve deposits, control octane requirement increases and reduce octane requirement when used as gasoline additives.

L'invention concerne des composés d'alcool de polyéther contenant un monoamide de la formule (I) dans laquelle R¿1?, R¿2?, et R¿3? sont chacun séparément sélectionnés dans le groupe formé par un hydrogène, un hydrocarbyle comprenant 1 à 100 atomes de carbone, un hydrocarbyle de substitution comprenant 1 à 100 atomes de carbone et un polyoxyalkylène alcool comprenant 2 à 200 atomes de carbone; ou alors R¿2? et R¿3? pris ensemble forment un groupe hétérocyclique comprenant 2 à 100 atomes de carbone ou un groupe hétérocyclique de substitution comprenant 2 à 100 atomes de carbone à condition qu'au moins R¿1?, R¿2?, ou R¿3? soit un polyoxyalkylène alcool. Les composés selon l'invention réduisent les dépôts dans les soupapes d'admission, régulent l'augmentation de la demande en octanes et diminuent la demande en octanes lorsqu'ils sont utilisés comme additifs de l'essence.
