A mirror support shaft which is a unitary device for supporting mirror assemblies which is mounted to a vehicle. The shaft has a spring-like portion for reducing or dampening vibrations and shocks transmitted to the mirror assembly from the vehicle. The mirror assembly is removably attachable to the mirror support shaft and the mirror support shaft is removably insertable in a mounting bracket assembly which is removably mountable to the vehicle.
