A spread spectrum OCDMA communication system in which multiple base stations (HS) or beams from a satellite (S) are deployed in a cellular coverage structure (Fig. 3), system capacity is increased by dividing the available spread spectrum into non-overlapping frequency segments (Fig. 9) which are assigned to different cells in a frequency reuse pattern to provide greater system capacity than full frequency reuse in each cell.

L'invention porte sur un système de télécommunications de type AMCOR à étalement de spectre dans lequel les multiples stations de base (HS) ou les faisceaux provenant des satellites (S) sont déployés dans une structure "cellulaire" de couverture (fig. 3), et dont la capacité est accrue par division du spectre disponible en segments de fréquences non recouvrants attribués à différentes cellules dans un schéma de réutilisation des fréquences, et qui confère au système une capacité plus importante qu'avec une réutilisation totale des fréquences dans chaque cellule.
