A detachable traction device, with quick vertical adjustable gripping length, to attach to the bottom of an existing shoe or boot to provide safety and comfort onto dangerous slippery surfaces, such as; freezing rain, snow covered ice, oil spills and other slippery surfaces, comprising, a flat rectangular base piece with a plurality of holes to allow spike adjustment, a pair of control housing having an upper section and a lower section, the upper section have means to automatically lock a nail in a vertical position, and further means to attach a strap. The lower section have means to allow easy horizontal adjustment of rigid side barriers, to fit snugly against a footwear. The present traction device allows a user to choose their own gripping length quickly, for comfort and safety, while the device is still attached to the footwear.
