The conventional adjustable wrench uses a rotating worm gear which moves the bottom jaw either up or down. The way in which this adjustment is made in conventional wrenches is by directly rotating the worm gear using the thumb of the hand holding the wrench. In this invention, the worm gear is turned by a linear-to- rotary mechanism. Instead of rotating the worm gear, the user slides a knob along the handle of the wrench. This system assures a precise adjustment while providing ease of use and rapidity.
